Joie De Vivre

After getting off of an exhaustingly amazing tour along the east coast with his old band, Your City/State, Chris French decided that the music just wasn't right for him. After the band went their seperate ways, Chris and Brandon Lutmer started writing songs with a specific sound in mind. Steve Kurzac found his way into Joie just before he went away to college and the band became stagnant for quite some time. After recording several demos of songs throughout a 2 month span, Patrick Delehanty was recruited to play guitar. A few months later a friend named Zach Staas started playing organ and rhodes for us, and in early 2009 we had a dear friend of ours join playing trumpet and mellophone, Paul Karnatz. What you are hearing in "Summer Months EP" (now on iTunes and through Count Your Lucky Stars Records) are the songs we have been working on for months and we are pleased to say that we are proud of what we have created. We are currently recording our first full-length record tentatively entitled "The North End", due out on Count Your Lucky Stars Records and Strictly No Capital Letters Records in the UK.
