At a time when most bands are concentrating on counting downloads instead of tour miles, Phoenix, AZ quintet Greeley Estates are a refreshing anomaly, building their burgeoning fan base the old fashioned way: by hitting the road and hitting it hard. Perfecting their sound by playing whenever and wherever possible. On Far From the Lies, the much-anticipated follow-up to 2005’s Caveat Emptor EP, Greeley Estates take their road-tested sound to new heights, mixing equal parts talent, drive and musical sincerity to craft their strongest record to date. On Far From the Lies’ 12 tracks, Greeley Estates pull from a disparate batch of collective influences—the melodic hardcore of Glassjaw, the eclecticism of Refused, and even the more straightforward sounds of bands like Thrice and Green Day—to form a sound that is uniquely their own.
Produced by Lou Giordano (Taking Back Sunday, Waking Ashland, Sunny Day Real Estate) and Executive Produced by Dave Sardy (Jet, Oasis, Wolfmother, Slayer), the sessions for Far From the Lies offered Greeley Estates a luxury they had never before enjoyed: time. “When we’ve recorded in the past, we’ve always had to do it in just a few days,” says Zimmerman. “To have the chance to take our time and focus on the songs with producers that really have an ear for the music was an amazing opportunity.” Far From The Lies will be release on Record Collection June 6th.
Upon finishing this winter’s Taste Of Chaos tour, Greeley will headline the full national Far From The Lies Tour this Spring, kicking off April 29th in Texas. They will then head out on the 2006 Warped Tour performing daily on the coveted Hurley Stage.
