The Billboard Straight from the Queen's womb, placenta in hand, TAT conquered the UK underground, sold 10,000 EP’s independently, took the money, shacked up with US producer Russ-T Cobb (The Academy Is.., Sevendust, Hot Hot Heat etc) and up and coming producer Dean Dichoso to record “Soho Lights,” their debut album. It hits stores in North America and online everywhere on October 28th, via Sony/RED distribution and self-released on their own record label.
It all started with an accidental month on the US Vans Warped Tour in 2006 where the band, who originally set out to play 8 dates, were offered the rest of the tour totalling 28 dates, scoring them some great interest and opportunities including 2007 support tours with The Bouncing Souls, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, and NOFX round the UK and Europe which they were lucky enough to get through personal invites from the bands themselves.
2006 - 2007 was certainly a strong time for the band, but it was not their first. TAT have been churning out hits for 4 years . "When we got together as the 3 piece we are today, 4 years ago, getting signed just wasn’t a priority... we had to get good first." says Tatiana DeMaria the bands’ front woman and songwriter.
And that they did! Playing over 200 hundred shows including supports with The Offspring, Therapy?, an arena tour of Poland, playing Reading Festival 2004 and Download Festival 2005 earning them some great reviews and new friends at radio in the UK and Europe. Their debut single - Peace Sex and Tea charted in the UK's top 100 as did their second single; Pessimist live from Reading festival, which entered the UK BBC Rock Chart at no 18.
TAT ended the summer of 2008 playing the Vans Warped Tour, taking only 2 weeks off Warped to support the legendary Alice Cooper. By the Fall, they took the US by the horns with another 2 months on the North American and Canadian roads, this time supporting Lagwagon and MXPX. They released an EP for the 2008 Summer/Fall tours, “This Is…TAT,” featuring tracks from the forthcoming debut release sold only at shows. It debuted on Aug 20th at #7 on the Billboard Mountain Regional Heat Seeker Chart. The EP was picked up at a Warped date and the track “Road To Paradise” was tested by alternative rock station KTCL/Channel 93 in Denver, CO in July 2008 and added immediately into daily rotation, climbing up their charts and Top 5 in phone requests!
“Soho Lights” tracks appeared on the FMQB Submodern radio chart (peaking at #6 on the singles chart amid artists like Cold War Kids, The Streets, Eagles of Death Metal, Jack White & Alicia Keys, Kaiser Chiefs, TV on the Radio, and Smashing Pumpkins), and the CMJ radio chart (peaking at #134, including 183 college stations adding TAT).
Tatiana was a featured guest vocalist on Reel Big Fish’s version of Poison’s “Talk Dirty To Me.” The song appears on RBF’s album of cover tunes coming out in January. She speaks some sexy lines and sings the chorus harmony. The song “Everything I Want” was aired on Jan 15th, 2009, on radio across the US and into Canada, Australia and the UK on “Nights With Alice Cooper.” Alice gave the band a personal plug and played them on an otherwise all classic-rock playlist surrounded by the Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osbourne, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and AC/DC.
