Panda

PANDA is a band that started in 1997, just four teenagers who had not much to do in their free time. In that time they got together to play some of the songs from their favorite bands and suddenly realized they had the potential to write their own songs. They were inspired in writing songs about their youth, friends, good times, parties and broken hearts, suddenly they did a demo with the songs they wrote. Soon Pepe, Riki, Ongi and Kross got Movic Records to offer them a contract at the age of 18.


In the year 2000 their first record comes out named Arroz con Leche. This record was not very famous and not many people gave any importance to it because this type of gender was still not very accepted. It was not until 2002, with their new CD called La Revancha del Principe Charro that they were started to be recognized as a part of rock music. They had many fans this time that followed them to every show they did and they were soon well-known and originated several other bands with their same style. With their new CD in stores, they decide to do a better edition of Arroz con Leche that comes out with a VIDEO-CD; this contains all the videos and band pictures of the time. This second edition gets a wonderful response from fans and they both become equally famous.


After travelling for a while and giving shows around Mexico and U.S.A, PANDA decides to take a brake and start composing their third album. In this moment Ongi leaves the band for personal reasons, they did not get angry or nothing alike. A friend of the band, Arturo Arredondo, steps in and takes his place. Arturo used to play with Kross a long time ago in a band called Super Azfalto this is why his talent was already known by the band.


Inspired by negative feelings, personal issues happening to band members and huge disappointments by that thing we call love the band started to write their third album: Para Ti Con Desprecio. There was a very drastic change in their lyrics and music but they still remained true to their style, which is for what they are known for.
