The Billboard Many people like to use epic indie rock ballads as homework music, but those who delve into The Americas' Sweet Release EP will have a hard time focusing on anything else. A raw, unproduced sound strengthens the core of this group's style, as crashing symbols and pulsing bass lines underlie the doodling guitar parts. While at times the vocals take a backseat here, that's nothing to be worried about as The Americas will be sure to turn listeners into fans with their extensive instrumental portions. Eight songs totaling almost forty minutes, Sweet Release is an EP worth your dollar in a year packed by quality releases.
