The Billboard
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin formed when lead guitarist Will Knauer, drummer Philip Dickey, and bassist Tom Hembree, met in high school in Springfield, Missouri (specifically at a Super Bowl party). In 2001, the trio added singer/guitarist John Robert Cardwell. Tom left for college and bassist/recording engineer Jonathan James was added. The band's debut album, Broom, was recorded in Knauer's home. Their song "Oregon Girl" appeared on an episode of The O.C. in the spring of 2006. A few months later Polyvinyl Records signed the band, remastering and reissuing Broom in 2006. Their second album, Pershing, was released in 2008. Their third album, Let It Sway, was released in August 2010. Chris Walla, guitarist for Death Cab for Cutie, produced the album with Beau Sorenson. In August 2010, the song "In Pairs" from Let it Sway was featured on MTV's "Teen Mom".
