Once and while, there comes along a band that makes people believe that rock n’ roll has the power to create movements. Nashville’s Mona is quickly shaping up to be that band. In only a few months since releasing a single “Listen To Your Love” on their own label 'Zion Noiz Recordings via Rough Trade shops and independent store across the UK this year, critics and fans haven’t stopped raving. Since then, the gang of four has signed with Mercury Records for the US, and has announced select winter tour dates in New York City, Brooklyn, Los Angeles and San Francisco to much anticipation. This means, their descent on the US is very near.

Mona are Sun Studio’s Million Dollar Quartet (Presley, Perkins, Lewis, Cash) rebooted 54 years on. As lead singer Nick Brown puts it, “we’re rock revivalists, in the sense that we like the golden age of the United States – the James Dean, Marilyn Monroe type stuff.” This iconography and idealism, he says, informed the writing of “Listen To Your Love” and the reasons why it became their first single.
