The Billboard Portland, OR's Lee Corey Oswald is a different beast than its East Coast brethren, finding warmth in the hooky, blown-out fuzz rock and reverb-drenched riffs of yesteryear. Recorded and produced completely in analog by Kind Of Like Spitting's Ben Barnett, these six new tracks revel in punk rock's reckless abandon and the skewed pop harmonics of '90s indie rock. The band originally started as an acoustic folk duo between Lee Ellis and Corey Ciresi, but the group has taken on many different incarnations. Never was that more apparent than in 2011's Moon Songs, a full-length split into two camps: the electric side and the acoustic side. Lee Corey Oswald has grown quite a bit since then, traveling the US and touring with the likes of The Menzingers and Luther. The result is a confident blend of songwriting prowess and youthful exuberance that's downright infectious.
