The Billboard Breaking out of hibernation, Sweatshirt Weather returns to the scene with the release of their third EP, Translations. Set for January 14th digital release, Translations contains acoustic renditions of songs from their prior two EPs, With High Hopes and Getting By, in addition to two new tunes and a cover of Something Corporate's "Watch the Sky." Translations is a refreshing take on familiar Sweatshirt Weather tunes, with bassist Chad Kulaga taking over acoustic guitar duties involving intricate finger-picking patterns and delicate lead lines. Singer Chris Stewart returns to the band, providing raw, yet melodic vocals to the stripped-down and intimate nature of the EP, and guitarist/keyboardist Daniel Inskeep goes behind the glass to engineer and produce this six-song release.
With the band currently divided into three different states, writing and recording of the EP was started in April 2011 and finally came to a close this December. Completely self-produced and released, Translations is set to redefine Sweatshirt Weather.
Sweatshirt Weather is:
Chris Stewart - Vocals, Guitar, Keys
Daniel Inskeep - Guitar, Keys, Vocals
Nate Adams - Drums, Vocals
Chad Kulaga – Bass
