The Billboard From London, England, The Vaccines created a cult following and a buzz after only releasing one demo of their song "If You Wanna" for free via their website. Now with a few releases under their belt including their debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?, a slot on the BBC's Later...with Jools Holland tv show, appearing on the "BBC Sound of 2011" poll and a tour around the UK, Europe and dates in North America finishing up they have more than backed up the "buzz" as well as reeled in many fans.
Members including Justin Young (formerly known as "Jay Jay Pistolet"), Freddie Cowan (brother of Tom of THe Horrors), Árni Hjörvar and Pete Robertson. They make indie rock'n'roll that makes total sense after the biggest summer of sunny bubblegum lo-fi ever, but with something scorched and woozy sounding of its own.
The band have drawn comparisons to The Jesus & Mary Chain and The Ramones. They describe their influences as "'50s rock 'n' roll, '60s garage and girl groups, '70s punk, '80s American hardcore, C86 and good pop music".
