Almost Gold

When I finally came to the conclusion that I wanted to name my new project Almost Gold (with some help from your very own CEO/Webmaster/Batman Superfan), I shared it with a few of my friends. One of them told me that it was the true cynic it me showing through. The funny thing about that is, I kind of thought it revealed the budding optimist. Maybe they thought I was being tongue in cheek about pseudo success from my former band, but in my own mind, I had new songs, new life, and new opportunities that excited me greatly. I guess if there is one truth realized in this type of exchange there's no escaping who you really are.

And with that last sentence in mind I give you, "Better Than This" and "How the Whispers" start. I don't personally care to give a category, all I know is it's pop/(x). I love pop music, listen to it, connect with it, and unashamedly write it. Always have, always will. I listen to, and draw inspiration from, a lot of different types of music, but will always tie it back into my version of pop. I have been getting a little more indie these days however. Been listening to this SUPER indie band from Seattle named Death Cab for Cutie (you'll hear about them soon I'm sure).

Anyways, I haven't slept on a bed that doesn't plug into the wall or double as part of the living room in 6 months, planted more trees than I care to count, haven't eaten anything I can't put into the microwave, and I'm swinging for the fences bitches. Straight outta Boston: We are ALMOST GOLD.
