Inside AP.net: Release Date Improvements

I check release dates so many times during the day. To see when something is coming out, to see if it's in our database, to make sure we've got features and whatnot prepared for popular releases. In the new website, I wrote the database from the ground up. I wrote it to be something I would want to use. With that I built some cool tools into it so that I can pull what the most popular releases for the week are to highlight, predict the most popular releases of the month for our community beforehand to make sure we have features and exclusives scheduled, and things like that. I'll post some screen caps up for the new section in a few days. Will there be a notification system outside of sending you an email when you ask the calendar to remind you or am I just doing it wrong?

Well, usually when you click "remind me" on the release calendar, there's no really visible, direct notification of when the record actually comes out when you log in unless you check the calendar a lot in the time leading up to the release (the weekly newspost about release dates has been helpful though.) I was thinking that users could just get a little pop-up (for lack of a better term) somewhere, maybe in whatever manifestation of your user control panel that appears in the new site. Again, I might just not be using the feature right, but it might help to have release dates and the like more visible/out there on the new site. Just my thoughts.

Ahh, yep, I added a module to the "my news page" that will have all the upcoming releases from bands you are following. Even if you haven't marked "remind me" ... the "remind me" feature will now be only for email if you'd like that.
