Titus Andronicus



I'm in class so I will try and make it brief. Titus Andronicus are one of the best punk bands out today. I feel terrible that we don't cover them more than we should. But I feel as if we did post about them they would get 10 responses where as a a shitty pop punk band will get 100 responses. Any who, Their latest album The Monitor is a modern punk classic based off of the U.S. Civil War. If that isn't enough to gain your attention I don't know what will. I just download The Monitor to see if it's worth picking up. I'm only halfway through the first song and I already bought it online. Among the first lines are "Tramps like us / Baby we were born to die." Anything with that much Springsteen influence should already be in my possession. Quality stuff.

Between these guys and The Gaslight Anthem they have put NJ back on the map.

New Jersey never fell off the map for me, but they're definitely circulating some energy in that scene. The best scene in all of music, in my opinion.
