| Mid-Year Look: Top Shows of 2012 | | Mid-Year Look: Top Shows of 2012 |
Here in Oregon, I've been blessed with lots of great shows over the last few years, thanks to the hard work and dedication of local promoters King Banana and Mike Thrasher Presents. Shows are often where I can kick back and relax, drink some coffee or soda with everyone before doors, and then have a blast rocking out to some great bands. I'm usually at 3 or 4 shows a month in the Portland area, so as you can imagine it's hard narrowing down some of my favorite moments of 2012 so far.
I'd love to hear from the rest of you, as to what YOUR favorite shows have been this year. Also, what shows coming up are you looking forward to?
(In no set order)

1. Glamour Kills Tour - Was able to go to 2 NYC shows in 1 day, and TWY played all of Suburbia for the mattinee show.
2. I Am The Avalanche @ Asbury Lanes - Got to see IATA in a bowling alley. Doesn't get much better than that.
3. Against Me! & The Menzingers - It was an off date of the tour that AM! was doing with The Cult.
4. POZ/Team Pagano House show featuring Handguns/I Was a Hero & more - both of the Pagano house shows were great, but seeing as this was the first one it definitely was special. The Pagano family are doing great things for bands coming through the NY area, and am proud to consider them family myself
5. Bamboozle 2012 - Brand New, The Gaslight Anthem, Armor for Sleep, TREOS, and more all in one weekend? How could I not include that?
Also, Glassjaw playing all of W&T tonight at midnight will probably end up on this list.
Free concert fun. did at Penn State.
2. Kendrick Lamar at Trees (Dallas)
3. John Legend at UNT (Denton)
4. ...I haven't gone to many shows at all this year :O

You may not have gone to a lot of shows, but quality over quantity right?

As for At The Drive-In, one of my friends is a major promoter in Dallas, and when the show sold out, he sent my name to the promoter as one of the people to get his "hold" tickets that he received to give/sell to friends, so I got 2 reserved in my name about 20 hours before the show started haha.
Since then, the only show I'd add to this list is Frank Ocean probably. And I guess Warped at #5 due to ETID and Transit.
