Saosin's newest album In Search of Solid Ground is solid. Great choruses, sweet melodies, and a more balanced sound from the band really make it a unique listen. It wasn't what I was expecting, but that's another reason why I like it. Just like the new TBS album, if you swear by the bands older work, you need not apply.
Maybe I should give it a third, fourth, and fifth listen. Cause the first two I hated it. Maybe its a grower?
I say it definitely is. When I first heard most of the songs. I was like "what is this?, this is awful." But then I gave it a few more listens and really started to enjoy all of the tracks. "It's All Over Know" is still way too pop. But tracks like "Deep Down", "On My Own" and "What Were We Made For?" are slowing growing into some of my favorite Saosin songs.
