With every update I get more and more excited for this. I've loved everything you've ever done and Thorns is probably my favourite song of the year so far. It's definitely high on my most anticipated list. As for what I'm listening to at the moment..

Thank you so much for the kind words, and I'm glad that you like Thorns. I was a bit nervous releasing that because it's just so different to anything else that I've created musically. I've been overwhelmed by the positive responses though so its been excellent!

I've been on a very indie orientated kick recently, but new Deftones and Circa are fabulous, man!

Yeah, I was surprised at first by how different it was but I love it, it's always great to see someone do something different musically to what they're used to and make it work and I think you did it brilliantly.

I heard the Union Sound Set record as I got the press copy. You definitely weren't wrong about it. What have you been listening to musically?

I'll come back this evening and post up a detailed list of the bands I've been listen to. A lot of good stuff released lately, man!

Sounds like it's going to be a blast. I know exactly how you feel about the music. I can only hope that I'll ever be successful enough to actually call music my career, but I'm heading into the studio in a few weeks to lay down a 3 or 4 track EP; just been working my ass off tightening up all the tracks with my drummer and working on my skillllz so I can show him what I want rather than trying to beat box lol...anyway, I'm really excited as it'll be my first time in a proper studio and not in my apartment with a condenser mic, fastrack pro and a few acoustic guitars haha...

I've been listening to a lot of Arcade Fire to prep for Suburbs. It actually sounds like you've been drawing a bit from that side of things for your album. Also had James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Interpol (new record out soon), Pavement Elvis Costello, and Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever on quite a bit recently. I guess I'm on a bit of a classic kick. I'm seeing Hanson Monday (I know, I'm that cool) twice, once for an in-store and once for the gig, so I've been listening to their new record too. It's actually pretty damn good.

Have you ever heard of a German singer-songwriter called Philipp Poisel? His record Wo Fängt Dein Himmel An? is absolutely magical, even if you don't speak German. The songs "Als Gäb's Kein Morgen Mehr," "Seerosenteich," and the title track are all some of my favorites at the moment. "Durch Die Nacht" also creates a fucking awesome ethereal mood for driving in the middle of the night.

If you've been listening to a lot of Indie recently then check out Two Door Cinema Club, Darwin Deez and Vampire Weekend's latest albums. They are superb.
Also another album that I have recently been listening to is Eminem's new one, Recovery. It is absolutely fantastic, although is obviously very different to indie!

Oh yeah dude Vampire Weekend and TDCC...awesome...but I've never listened to Darwin Deez so holla for the suggestion...

ive been listening to headlines by the saturdays, and robyns new albums and brand news first record...i love thorns soo much..i just go to listen to it! and i love it..can you please release the record in the US?

Its fantastic when someone can follow/be a part of something they're so passionate about. I'm not a musician but music is a big part of my life and I listen to it whenever I can. Im loving Hiding places by USS (formerly Prego as if you didnt know)at the moment. Also Deaf Havana and The Excerts - both bands that I have been introduced to by yourself when they were support acts at Fightstar gigs. I have also resurrected an old album by a group called "The Calling" - Have you heard of them?
Then of course Fightstar - can never get enough Fightstar, I just love your vocals - havent found a song I havent enjoyed yet. I hope your solo music will have the same effect.
