Show Review: Circa Survive/Touché Amoré/Balance and Composure/O'Brother (10/10/12 @ LA Nokia Live)

This past week I finally made it out to my first real show in Los Angeles and I couldn't have picked a better show to go to. I headed downtown LA with fellow AP.net staff Jack Appleby to attend the Circa Survive Violent Waves tour at the Nokia Live. First off, I just got to say that I really liked that little area of downtown LA, I will be visiting there often. Jack and I arrived a little late and only got to catch the final half of O'Brother's set, but from what I could tell from the crowd reaction and what was happening on stage, the band absolutely killed it, unleashing one last powerful breakdown before giving way to Balance and Composure. Hey, I was there! Amazing show through and through. I was lucky enough to get in the pit-area which really was like being in an entirely different venue from the main floor. First time seeing everyone but B&C, and everyone honestly put on just great sets.

went to the sf show. really good stuff. I had never listened to B&C before but I really dug it.

I had to choose between that tour and seeing Passion Pit. I was upset about missing Circa, but the Passion Pit show was a blast.

Ah, for some reason this morning I misread that as that you only caught the last half of their last song. Anyways, I'll be the one blowing it when I miss the entire Pontiac show this Sunday.

Trust me, we didn't want to miss it, but I rear-ended a guy trying to find Drew's place.
We can call agree that's Drew's fault, right?
Maybe I'll start a Kickstarter to fix it.

Caught the show in Seattle. Really, really good. Tons of fun, especially the confetti-filled balloons!

Haha, mostly Nike basketball shoes.

This was just a fucking fantastic show from start to finish. Touche stole the show for me as well, but O'Brother, Balance and Circa were all great.
