I remember hearing that story on that live version of "Standing on the Edge of Summer". Heartbreaking.

That was a wonderful read. I love that you quoted a "Running From The Rain" line, it's my all time favorite song from them. The way Geoff sings "When it reaches the end of the liiiiiiiiiiiiine" on the first chorus still hits me as hard as the first time. I wish i was old enough to see them live when they played there in 2006...

Beautifully written. I got a little choked up. Such an influential band that is going to be one big fond memory for me that changed how I look at emotional music all together (not a cliche, but a passionate & expressive art form).

"Please don't tell me they were just a band. That bands break up all the time. That I'll feel better, it's no big deal, I'll get over it. Why the fuck would I want to hear that right now? I don't want to feel better, and I don't want to get over it. I want to take the time to mourn the loss of something that I've invested the better part of my adult life in caring about."
