Taking Back Sunday’s Tell All Your Friends Tour (TAYF10) with Bayside and Gabriel the Marine
Emo’s in Austin, TX on November 2nd, 2012

Check out my photos from the concert here

Having turned 19 just over a month ago, I sometimes find to hard to understand what the best days in “our scene” really looked like ten years ago. Sure, I’ve listened to the records – The Illusion of Safety, What It Is To Burn, The Used, Does This Look Infected? – and I grew up on some of them – The Young and the Hopeless, No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls, Sticks and...[read more]

I was at this show Friday and being 20 years old, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Every bit of this review was my exact thoughts on that night. The energy was so unreal, especially for shows here in Austin where the crowd are usually a bit more reserved. I had never sweated so much, had so many beers spilled on me, heard that many people sing that loud for ever fucking song, or see that many crowd surfers. What an incredible experience that I we were all lucky to have. If there are still tickets available for your date, do NOT skip this! One of the greatest times of my life.

You're only 19? Fuck I feel old. I was able to enjoy this music back when it was first released. I remember back in high school my friends told me to check out TBS and I went home and watched the music video for You're So Last Summer. I went back to school the next day and remember telling my friends that I didn't expect the singer to be black hahaha. But man, we were obsessed with this album; always quoting lines and seeing who had the best merch. This was a fun era of music to grow up in. I miss it dearly. There were so many phenomenal bands.

You must have been one sophisticated 12-year-old.

Looking forward to the Philly shows.

Seeing them at the all acoustic show next Thursday in a super-intimate venue. Jeally? :)

Great review. Did they play a newer set and then play TAYF in its entirety?

I was lucky enough to make it to the Lawrence date at The Grenada and it was just as amazing as you've described. I almost didn't go because I had no one to go with but last minute I was able to convince a friend of mine to go. I'm so glad I went and I will never forget the show or driving around listening to TAYF on loop all throughout my youth. If you love this record/band like I do, don't miss this tour!!! Such a great atmosphere watching the show with a thousand other people who know every word of every song and the band sounded absolutely awesome.

i remember seeing TBS waaaay back in the day. MCR, FATA and Recover (Recover!!!!) opened for them. that was an amazing night. Of course at the time most people only knew the words to "Cute Without the E" but it was still an amazing show.

i can't even fathom how awesome this tour is knowing the album is 10 years old and a favorite of almost everyone.

This was the best concert of my life. I moshed the entire time, so I didn't get too see all the crazy stuff Adam did on stage, but I still had a blast anyway. Such a fun night.
