Five and Alive: The Lack Long After
Five and Alive: The Lack Long After

When you're young, music is really cool. But the reality is that you can't ever truly appreciate the music you love until the artists that created it disappear. The day they say, "We're not going to do this anymore. Do not expect new music from us until further notice," is punishing to many of us. There's a Bill Burr joke about appreciating a dog more when you're older, because when you're younger - everything is awesome! "Why wouldn't a dog be awesome?!" Really good post. I feel sorry for the people who just can't seem to grasp the concept of progression and how a band has to change to remain relevant. All three of these bands were constantly evolving and there should be so much respect for that.

Although I don't hold Thursday anywhere near as close to my heart as Rx Bandits or my favorite band Thrice, all three were pioneers for this scene and will be missed.

I think above all Thrice will be back with new music, even if they don't tour regularly. The guys will get their creative juices flowing again and get back in the studio in due time; they just need the time to get the inspiration and the drive to do it.
