A Day To Remember's "Toursick"- review

Headliner: A Day To Remember
Support (in descending order): August Burns Red, Silverstein, Enter Shikari, Veara

On April 8th, 2010, A Day To Remember’s highly anticipated spring “Toursick” tour made a stop at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. The anticipation was clearly high in the crowd waiting to enter the sold out show, and throughout the night this only built as A Day To Remember’s set grew near. Georgia pop-punkers Veara took the stage a mere ten minutes after fans were allowed into the venue, and ripped through a six-song, 25 minute set, managing to engage a crowd that had most likely had heard them before.
Following Veara was synth-laden British post-hardcore act, Enter Shikari. Enter Shikari have been making a major name for themselves...[read more]

i went to the philly date of this show. enter shikari did well, and i don't much care for silverstein so i chain smoked until their set was over. by the way, their backup singer was so off key, it was almost painful to listen to. august burns red were of course phenomenal. but adtr's stage show was so gimmicky and full of itself that it really turned me off. im a fan, dont get me wrong, but the intro video, roadie clad in scuba gear launching t-shirts out of a hand-held cannon, and smoke columns were so unfitting for a hardcore band. i thought for just a second that i was at a fall out boy show, but then i saw people moshing.

You talk of the confetti gun, but spare a thought for the people (including me) who have to sweep that shit up after the shows. That was a shit job.

Keep in mind that ADTR is a pop-punk band at heart, not a hardcore band.

From the show starting to it ending, do you think it was 4hrs and 15minutes longer or less? I have to catch a bus home for this show and don't want to miss any of ADTR.

I'd say it was a little longer, unfortunately

Great show overall. You're a little off on the setlists but pretty much its all there. Did you have a hard time getting to Starland with the telephone pole being down?

Sorry. My memory was a bit off, so I filled in some holes with the setlist posted in the Toursick thread.
And yeah. We finally figured out to go around to the other side of Jernee Mill Road and go to the venue from there.

I was there, missed all of Veara and Enter Shikari, but Silverstein and August Burns Red more than made up for it. Silverstein played a great set, their song selection was great (partly because they avoided Arrivals and Departures). This was my first time ever hearing anything from ABR, and they made a believer out of me.

I'd seen ADTR twice before, and was a little disappointed both times, but this one left me begging for more. They played a great set, the crowd was intense, and it was a phenomenal place to be that night. That being said, I was wildly disappointed that they didn't play "NJ Legion Iced Tea." Other than that, best show I've been to in a while.

This was my 11th time seeing ADTR. ABR blew me away and A Day To Remember put on probably the best set ive seen them play dating back to late 06. The best part of their set had to be their ...And Their Name Was Treason medley.

Seeing this the 21st minus Silverstein and Go Radio in place Veara. I am so stoked! I've seen ADTR already but they only played like 8 - 10 songs 'cause they were opening for Silverstein. Their setlist looks so fucking good. Pumped for the And Their Name Was Treason medley. I've yet to see ABR so that will be sick too!

I was never a big fan of Enter Shikari until i saw them live on Friday night, they were really entertaining to watch. Veara was also awesome. They put a solid show and also hung out at there merch tent all night, which was an awesome gesture to meet fans. All in all a really great show.
