I have pretty much decided to follow my heart and change majors. I can't be a Political Science major any longer; I didn't enjoy my classes half as much as I should have last year. I have to start from scratch now, but it feels right. I have no doubt that having a major in Criminology will pay off - if only for the fact that it's what I truly enjoy. I don't care to make a lot of money once I'm out of school anymore. All I want is to live a comfortable life.

With that being said, during the period of confusion over my education / future career, one thing was always clear: I never want to stop working with bands and labels. I don't know how a criminology major fits in all of that, but there is nothing out there that I enjoy more than what I do here on this website. Perhaps I...[read more]

ap's lucky to have you in the ranks. if you choose to pursue criminology, criminals will be unlucky to have you in the ranks. either way, the world is a better place. ;}

I wasn't a Criminology major in college, but I took quite a few classes within the department and enjoyed them quite a bit. Since I have graduated in May, I have been thinking about searching for a job in the criminology field. The only problem is I don't want to start out being a cop at all. Do you know of any other entry jobs in criminology that you don't have to start out being a cop?

I've changed my major twice, and once you find something that you truly enjoy you won't regret it. As for finding a job with it, I wouldn't worry about that either. Many people don't have jobs related at all to their major. It's all about finding what fits right for you, and what you want to do with your life.
