Produced by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, the debut album from Paris's Melody Prochet is a wonderfully reverby soundscape that borrows the eclecticism, smoky production and dreamy female vocals of Phantogram, the synth accents of Kraftwerk and Stereolab, and the psych-rock guitars of its producer's main act. Prochet drifts back and forth between English and French-- the latter I'm literate in, but have trouble with the spoken word. Not that it matters.
