And my top 10 personal discoveries of the year in no order (I know there's some amazing bands here that I should have discovered before now, but I've been stubborn about listening to bands in other genres that have a more alternative appeal...or, in the case of the horrors, I saw play a terrible show live before hearing any of their studio material):
