| | First Impressions: The Spill Canvas - No Really, I'm Fine |
| A logical follow-up to their last album. Production is crystal clear. Musicianship is pretty cool. Almost like a catchy jam band at times. There are some really good songs here. There are a few that I feel are brought down by a few cheesy lines ... but beyond that I really like this album. "All Over You" is a breakout hit and "Connect the Dots" is gorgeous. | | Tags: first impressions, the spill canvas |

| | First Impressions: New Found Glory - From the Screen to Your Stereo 2 |
I'm sitting here with a huge smile on my face. I love this band. I don't care that they're pop-punk, or even pop, they make me smile - and that should be all that really matters.
The album sounds really good. It's fun. It's uplifting. It's NFG. While I woke up in an awful mood yesterday - today is infinitely better simply due to being able to turn up the speakers while this album begins to play. | | Tags: first impressions, new found glory |

| | First Impressions: All Time Low - So Wrong, It's Right |
I like it more than I thought I would. Reminds me of Boys Like Girls a little bit - very poppy - but catchy. I would have loved this 5 years ago ... right now I'm content with saying it's a good pop album. "Holly (Would You Turn Me On?)" [get it?] and "Poppin' Champagne" are probably my favorite tracks on the first listen.
Edit: After listening more - it's almost completely disposable pop. The lyrics, music, all of it - totally fun - but totally disposable. However, it's good road trip material. For what they do - they do it well. Kids are going to eat it up. | | Tags: all time low, first impressions |
