| Parents and Concerts....Ugh..... |
I don't want this to sound like a typical parent complaining blog but I just need to vent. I told my parents about a month ago that I was going to three shows in one week. They gave me the okay, no real issues. So this week comes along and what do ya know, they changed their minds. My mom said 3 shows was a little excessive for a school week, which I understood. So I told her I would cut out the Dance Gavin Dance show. That left me with All Time Low and Sparks The Rescue on Monday night and Ben Folds on Tuesday. Well after work I came home to my father screaming at me telling me two shows in one week is too much so I need to choose. The kicker is, I bought two tickets for Ben Folds, but I would have rather gone to All Time Low. That was last night when he broke this news to me. I tried to dump my BF tickets all day today, I cut the price, offered people the chance to pay later, let them use my GPS to find their way there and nothing worked out. As I was leaving school I happened to ask a teacher what she was doing Tuesday night, and she asked me why? I told her I had two tickets to Ben Folds and she was in awe that something like this could happen to her. She told me that she had been trying to win a pair of tickets on the radio and was asking people if they wanted to go with her if she won. So I gave her my number (oh yeahhhh) and told her to give me a call by 5 because I needed to know in time to make ATL. She never called me, so I'm stuck with my BF tickets, which I'm happy with. I have just been dying to see ATL for years now.
So I decide to go to a local restaurant with friends to get it off my mind. I get on my laptop and check my twitter to find a tweet from Jack (ATL) saying that they are going to play old songs tonight. You fucking kidding me? The ATL I fell in love with, and I'm missing it. So just when I think things couldn't get worse, I get a text message. It came from A Skylit Drive, who I don't even really listen to. But they had a contest thing for whoever signed up for their mobile street team would be added in a contest for two free tickets to their show in your town. Lucky me, I fucking won. So I have tickets to see BF and I won tickets to go see Dance Gavin Dance. Now I have to try to get my parents to let me go.
Wish me luck. | | Tags: Parents, Concerts, All Time Low, Ben Folds, Dance Gavin Dance, Won Tickets, Fuck |

| | | Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh |
| I'm trying to order TDS's new record off of Hopeless's site and its being a bitch. First of all it doesn't offer paypal which is the easiest way to pay for things online. Second it keeps saying that my billing address doesn't match the one that's on my card, when I have checked quadruple times. I'm just going to wait a little bit and try again. | | Tags: The Dangerous Summer, Hopeless Records Site, sucks to deal with. |

| | The Wrestler |
Daron Aronofsky has yet to let me down. Every movie he directs seems to always stand out in my mind. The Wrestler is no different. Aronofsky has created a great one hell of a story line in which Mickey Rourke portrays perfectly.
The film begins when you are introduced to Randy “The Ram” Robinson (Mickey Rourke), who is a professional wrestler who works at a local grocery store part time. Randy is one of the oldest wrestlers in the game but is a living legend to the sport. The movie shows the struggles and sacrifices wrestlers give up to live in the spotlight. It’s more than just blood, sweat, and tears. As Randy continues to put his body though the ringer the effects start to show. This occurs in more than just his career as his social life has become a night at the strip club. His relationship with his daughter continues to plummet in a downward spiral. If I had no previous information on wrestling I would swear that The Ram was a real wrestler and this movie was based off of a real story. It depicts the life so vividly and emotionally that you are forced to realize what life would be like if you were in that position. Rourke plays the part with what seems to be ease as the movie seems so real and natural. I think that’s what makes this film stand out to others I have seen of late. It doesn’t fill you with false imagery. It gives you the real talk which can be hard to take, but it cuts deep. Overall, this is one of the deepest, well directed, and best acted movies I have seen for 2008. I fully and whole heartedly support this movie and suggest everyone to go take the time to see it. It’s worth it.

| | | | | | | | Vacation! |
Finally it's vacation time. It seems like I haven't had a day off in forever. I might just get some relaxing in.
I guess I'll make a recommendation while I'm at it. Go listen to The Dangerous Summer if you haven't. They're going to blow up. | | Tags: Vacation, The Dangerous Summer |
