Alot of conflticting information about Splendour dates/venues this week, so don't this as gospel.

Coldplay shows have been postponed... before they were announced.

The Perth leg of Big Day Out has a new venue.

Check out some live streaming of the Peats Ridge Festival here, or if you are reading this from the future I’m sure they will have some cool live videos up.

Check out the Rage’s top 50 music videos of the year. Good to see Heroes For Hire sneaking in.

Dillion Rivers, from Melbourne hardcore band Lovers Grave, passed away earlier this week.

Hands Like Houses have signed to Rise Records.

The Getaway Plan debuted at number 17 on the ARIA charts this week, I personally think it's one of the best Australian albums in a few years, so make sure you pick it up!

Do Short Stack really need a DVD? I suppose its better than buying anything related to the Justice Crew. Americans who read this, don't look up who the Justice Crew are, it will make you never want to come to Australia and destroy our tourism industry. Sorry for anyone who came here to read news.

Most interesting article from a slower news week, Commercial Radio Australia are arguing that at least 25% of all music on Australian radio must actually be from Australia. Maybe they could also drop the 90% of music on the radio that have to be about grinding a girl at a/the club.

Big Day Out has had to drop Kanye West, among others, from the Perth, Adelaide and Auckland. A statement regarding this can be read here.

Tonight Alive has debuted at #15 on the ARIA charts. Well done guys!

Dream On, Dreamer has been nominated for an aria for their debut release, Heartbound.


Tour/Show News

An awesome event has reopened in Sydney called Access All Ages. These series of shows will give a chance for younger bands to support more established bands at two killer venues in Sydney and will be occurring over two weekends every school term.

Heroes for Hire start a huge tour this Friday in Brisbane taking along with them I Call Fives and I Am Villain. Get dates and ticket info here.

Bright Eyes and Kevin Devine, amongst others, have announced side show dates for Melbourne and Sydney during their stint with Harvest festival.

Caulfield are taking Awaken I Am on the road next month on a string of club shows.


Release News

The Bride releases their long awaited debut, President Rd, on October 28th. This has been a long time coming for the guys for one of Sydney’s most established band, although the wait was well worth it. Make sure you grab a copy!

The video for East Coast Blazin’ was released earlier this week on Channel V. This is the second video of Heroes for Hires new album, Take One for the Team. Check out the first one here.
