Hey, this is Chris Swinney. I used to play in The Ataris and many other bands like Underminded, Brazil, The Widow Jenkins, and Chronic Chaos.
Some friends and I have been working on some demos as of late. We have not decided on a name yet, but a front runner is, "Skeleton Coast". Check out a new demo I just posted called, "27". More info soon. Thanks.

Just to let everyone know...I am no longer with The Ataris. After Warped I "quit/took a break"...then rejoined...then had some family issues that forced me to not be able to do this last tour...then I was replaced.
Thanks to all the great people I met through the band over the last year and a half...your friendship and support mean the world to me.
Hopefully I will have some new music related projects to share with everyone very soon.
Hey, this is Chris S. of The Ataris. I have been lazy lately with my blogging. Warped Tour was great!!! We had so much fun and capped off our two week run with a great home town show in Indianapolis.
We made some great friends on the tour and I would like to give a big shout out to the following:
All the Gallows guys...especially Lags for jamming "San Dimas" with us on the Texas dates, Dallas and all the Alexisonfire guys...best band on the tour, Devin and everyone at Music Saves Lives, Minkus...thanks for shooting us and being a cool chick, The Rats...especially Gary and Junior(best stage dudes ever!), Anthony and Chris from Bayside, Mike and the NOFX guys, Will from Aiden(thanks for rocking some Misfits with us!), Craig from Chiodos(rocking out with you on "San Dimas" was so much fun!), John @ AT&T, Rick Thorne, All the dudes from The Scenic(thanks for being our crew!), Bethany @ Press, Margot and Jan for hawking our merch, The dudes from The Exposed(Ello Guvna!), The Anti Flag dudes, Longway, Shooter Jennings(thanks for watching us...it was an honor), Brian and Therefore I Am, Thrice...for being not only amazing musicians but being the nicest guys ever, Tada Catering...amazing food, Gavin...you are best best TM ever, and finally thanks to Kevin Lyman...we appreciate everything!
Ok, now on to other stuff. We named our new album, "The Graveyard of the Atlantic". It is almost finished...I know it was supposed to be out already, but we want it to be perfect for you guys. Please be patient! It will be worth it, I swear.
Now here are a few videos. Up first is a little video I cut together of our trip from Indiana out to Arizona to pick up Kris, and then on to California for Warped.
Here are a couple cool videos. First video are two Misfits covers...Will from Aiden joins us on "Skulls", and the second is Craig from Chiodos doing "San Dimas". Both are from our last day in Indianapolis.
Lastly, here is an interview Bryan and I did in San Fransico. Enjoy!!!
Oh yeah, almost forgot to pick a cover...here you go!
Heather at her 2008 High School Graduation
Hit up Heather's mom and tell her she did a good job!
Hey, what's up everyone? I was kicking around an idea for Warped. When we are not on tour, I teach guitar...so I figured I would try to do that on Warped as well.
So if you are interested in a guitar lesson during any of our Warped dates...hit me up at:
Hey, everyone. I have been MIA on my blog for a while. The tour was amazing! Big show, little shows and everything in between. South Africa was life changing! So many wonderful people and great shows, not to mention that Africa is so incredibly beautiful.
So, we just posted the album version of, "All Souls Day" over at our myspace page:
The new album is almost done, and we can't wait for you guys to hear it.
This new demo is a rough song that we recorded in the pre-production sessions at The Gallows. It was one of the first songs we wrote for the new album. It is called "All Souls Day". Remember when you hear it...it is very rough.
The album version will also be included on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour Compilation.
So...the countdown has begun! Thursday April 9th @ 2pm Eastern.
Hey, everyone. We are gearing up for the upcoming tour. We are very excited.
The new album is coming along nicely. Kris is almost done with the vocals, and then we just need to mix and master it. If I can talk everyone into it, I might try to post a new demo on the myspace soon. Keep checking back.
I just did a few interviews about our upcoming African Tour. Check them out...one is from Spin Magazine's new international site and the other is from Seventeen Magazine(hehe! crazy right).
Hey, everyone...Chris S. here from The Ataris. Kris is finially done with his solo acoustic tour of Europe, and barring a few sketchy situations, it went splendidly.
He has 4 more acoustic dates starting in April in Australia. Here they are:
We just found out that we will be included on the 2009 Warped Tour Compilation, and we couldn't be more stoked! We are planning on putting a new album track on it, so keep checking back for updates.
With Kris back home in the States, we can resume work on the new record. We still need to finish the vocals, and do a few little guitar noodles...and then it is off to be mixed and mastered! We are really excited for everyone to hear the new album.
Speaking of new albums I picked up two this past week that I really liked. I picked up the new Propagandhi and New Found Glory discs.
Words can't explain how good the new Propagandhi is...it is amazing. You all should pick it up. And my friends at Smallman Records put it out, and they are some of the best dudes ever. Winnipeg represent!
The New Found Glory cd is great as well. The production is great as always. They are a great band, and I hope to see them at Bamboozle.
Well, that is about it. We have just been practicing like crazy in preparation for tour. We will be announcing other dates very soon. US stuff as well as International stuff.
For my cover this entry I am going to spotlight our main support band for the South African tour, CrashCarBurn. They recently recorded a cover of "So Long Astoria" and it is great. They are an amazing band, and we are very honored that they took the time to do this. We can't wait to tour with them. Make sure to check them out @ www.myspace.com/crashcarburn
Hey, Chris here...back again with another update. Bryan, Jake, and I are hard at work here in the good old Hoosier state, while Kris is finishing up his solo European tour.
We are busy learning new songs for our upcoming tour, and things have been going very smoothly. Kris has a few dates left before he flys home and we resume work on the new record. Here are the remaining dates:
March 11th - The Tunnels - Aberdeen, Scotland
March 13th - The Bunker - Belfast, Northern Ireland
March 14th - Eamonn Doran's - Dublin, Ireland
If you can make it, you totally should!!!
I have also been hard at work updating our online presence.
