Waits, Tom - Glitter and Doom Live
Vinyl version of the brand new live Tom Waits album, Glitter and Doom Live, coming out December 8th on Anti- Records. LP ships with a gatefold jacket and a download card but does not include the Tom Tales disc, which is exclusive to the CD version.
Anti- has this to say about the record:
"Available November 23rd, Glitter and Doom is a 2 disc collection of the best of the best tracks from Tom Waits' sold out, highly acclaimed Glitter and Doom tour of the US and Europe in the summer of 2008.
[The album] is designed to sound like one evening's performance, even though the 17 tracks are selected from 10 cities, from Paris to Birmingham; Tulsa to Milan; and Atlanta to Dublin. Sonically the album is superb and has been beautifully recorded and meticulously mastered .
Musically, the live disc features all eras of Waits' eclectic glory as he shifts seamlessly from an array of characters: carnival barker, preacher, country singer, soul balladeer; cabaret singer and storyteller. Backed by a versatile 5 piece band, Waits departs from the songs' original incarnations. The songs instrumentation and rhythms are rearranged and re-imagined. Swampy tribal rhythms, ominous hymns, gypsy flavored ballads, searing rhythmic r&b, and blues boogies. angular and surreal rock are all present. Though there has not been much noise here on the front page / blog this week, that doesn't mean nothing went on! It just means that our page guy Craig took the first 3 days off while his band finalized a deal with one of the bigger managers/promoters in the Seattle area as well as having managed such bands as Slipknot, Sevendust and Korn (not something I'd admit, heh). So much congrads to Only the Strong and best of luck on your road to next year's SXSW!

| | Welcome Kreation Records to Nerd Alert! |
Last week I picked up a box of doom metal / sludge metal vinyl from Seattle-based label, Kreation Records personally from the record store that their label exists within, Zion Records. Stephen hooked us up with no only wholesale prices that beat the distro prices we were getting prior by a couple bucks every record but we were also given some of the Kreation exclusive color variants!
If anyone is looking for anything Kreation Records and we don't have it, just drop me an email and I'll see if I can go pick it up!
