| Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian is a novel I've been wanting to read for at least three years now, but for some reason, I never got around to it. His novels No Country For Old Men and The Road are two of my favorites, and though I'm not done with it yet, Blood Meridian will probably end up leading the pack when all is said and done. The only way I can describe his writing is "gorgeous," even when he is describing scenes of brutal violence. He is truly an incredible writer. | | Tags: blood meridian, cormac mccarthy, currently reading, book |

Alkaline Trio's Maybe I'll Catch Fire and Good Mourning are both required listening for October, in my book. Jimmy Eat World's Futures and Invented are both essential soundtracks to the changing weather, perfect for those evening walks around campus. I can see myself continuing to spin City and Colour's Little Hell and Daybreak by Saves The Day, as well.
