It's been so exciting to be working on mixes for the record!
To celebrate crossing the halfway point to our pledge goal we decided to post a preview of one of the first mixes. Don't get too attached though. Well it's not THE day but we have started getting back the first mixes of the recorded material and it's very exciting. It's kind of like Christmas morning or sitting back and having grapes fed to you because all the tracking is done.
Since we are itching to pass some new music on to you guys we decided to post one of the rough mixes as soon as we reach the 50% mark. So let's do this so we can get our share on!

I started the design while we were up in Canada working on the record. All that Canadian forest-fresh air must've inspired me; as well as some vintage gift shop National Park tees.

We just finished tracking the entire album!
Seriously, it was an amazing experience. We are extremely happy with how it turned out. Working with Dave Newfeld was everything we hoped it would be. His process is magical. It pulled energy and creativity out of us that we didn't even know was there. We recorded SO MANY tracks. He is a genius and I can't tell you how excited we are for this album. It was incredible.
Next up, is the intense mixing process. I think we get the first few mixes from Dave as early as tonight!!!!! When the mixing is done, the album can be mastered and sent off to everyone who Pledged!
Speaking of the Pledge, there are only 26 days left to reach our goal! We are pushing to make it to 50% by the end of this weekend!

This is the control room in the Stars and Suns Studio. It's been our Canadian home away from home. Something about this room puts us in a trance where we forget what time it is and make music until we can't keep our eyes open... and maybe even a bit after that.
At the end of the night Dave usually pulls out a handful of amazing tracks from his DJ days, and we inevitably end up dancing ourselves back to inspiration.
