| | The Usual Shizzle and a bit of announcement |
Ok 2 things to talk about today. The first is the usual happenings with Alter The Press!
This week we posted 2 in-depth interviews. The first with UK singer-songwriter Luke Leighfield and the other with Tom Beck of small independent British label, Walnut Tree Records.
Luke talks about his new album 'Have You Got Heart?', offering it as a free download, running his own label, playing shows in China and Russia, being a full-time student and touring musician at the same time and much more. READ IT HERE.
Whilst Tom from WTR talks about the labels beginnings, the recent 'Un-Scene 5' compilation with Punktastic Records, his thoughts on the music industry, how the label nearly came to an earlier this year and much more. READ IT HERE.
Then of course there is all the usual album and single reviews and interviews:
Album Reviews:
Various - Brits Abroad EP
Harvard - The Inevitable and I
Tell It To The Marines - Bridges EP
Anderson Mesa - The View From Here EP
Destry - It Goes On
Various Artist - Saw VI (Soundtrack)
Single Review: Straight Lines, Spectrum 7, The Answer and New Rhodes
and an interview by Chicago band Five Oh First
In the coming weeks there are some good interviews and features planned. The first of these features will be an 'Albums of The Decade', which will be my own 25-30 favourite albums of the past 10 years. I originally was going to write a day-by-day post on each album but with me working full-time and everything else going on at the moment, this is a slightly easier option. However its still going to be tough to decide what order to put them in.
Stay tuned!
Ok here's the small announcement:
A few days ago you may have seen this post on AP.net? Well I did and I thought I'll give the UK round-up a shot. So I am not contributing to future UK round-ups. | | Tags: luke leighfield, walnut tree records, harvard, tell it to the marines, |

| | | | | A mixed weekend |
Well Friday was good because I got a job and all that but then something bad happened.
Just my typical luck. Basically last night when I was out with friends in a club my phone got lost/stolen
So that's put a downer on things

| | I Finally Got A Job! |
So 16 months after finishing University, I finally got a job today
I start on Monday with a pretty decent salary.
Oh and don't worry AlterThePress.com isn't going to be downhill or anything. Late November/Early December should be pretty awesome.
We're also thinking of putting up the new layout in the next few days.
