After seeing Brand New live this past Saturday, I can safely say they are my favorite band. Their set included songs from all four of their albums, with the band even playing 70x7 "without anyone requesting it" as said by Jesse himself. Their transitions from song to song flowed very well and made the experience even better. Here's a setlist, not in any order mind you, and from what I can remember:
Welcome to Bangkok
Sink
You Won't Know
Jesus
Tommy Gun
Sic Transit
Jude Law
70x7
Vices
Gasoline
You Stole
Archers
Deguasser
Sowing Season (Yeah)
Limousine (Jesse solo till the very end)
Daisy
Bought a Bride
At the Bottom
Play Crack the Sky (Jesse solo/electric guitar)
This is not in order, but these are the songs that were played. The lighting the band has just adds so much more to their songs and made me love their live show even more. Also, the entire venue singing the bridge to 70x7 was pretty awesome as well.
After listening to the new Say Anything album, and seeing videos of Max performing songs acoustically from it, I really wish Max would put out an acoustic album. The acoustic version of Crush'd sounds so much better than it does on the record. I just feel more emotion in his voice when its just him and an acoustic guitar. I feel that I'm not alone on this topic.
So I have the best girlfriend in the world. Here I am, pissed that I couldn't get tickets for Brand New's tour this fall for the Philly date, and what does my girl do? She got two tickets for the Philly date. I'm beyond excited for the show, two of my favorite bands playing a show.
This quote from Stephan of Third Eye Blind makes me beyond excited..

chris -- WILL WE EVER GET A LIVE ALBUM?
yes you will chris! thanks for asking. we have it all recorded from the period after the filmore show two years ago, but then we decided that we wanted to make the new music first. i think i want to give away some of those songs for free on 3eb.com. anyway, here's the plan: put our ursa minor and have it go along with ursa major, then maybe an homage album (covers) then the live album. something like that. i feel more confident and sure of doing these things than ever, thanks in large part to you all!
