I'm such a sucker for ballads, love songs. Anything gorgeous and slow. I've loved them forever. For a guy I love some emotional stuff. It's the passion for music and how it can describe how you're feeling with any combination of words. But to me it's all about the melody. All my favorite songs are slower acoustic or piano ballads.
I've said it before I love all music jazz, rock, classical and even country. Which brings me to why I'm writing this.
Driving home I just heard a new Rascal Flatts song on the radio. Yes, Rascal Flatts. They're like the boy band of country pop. But you have to admit they have some awesome ass, emotional songs. I can relate with a lot of them. It's been a while since I've heard anything by them but this one like many others caught my ear instantly. It's called "Come Wake Me Up"
I love when a song is presented to me right when I need it or should be hearing.
I can't explain how excited I am for the new Spill Canvas record and the new Yellowcard record. Along with many others that we will be getting this year. It's a great year for new music in my eyes. A lot of my favorite bands are releasing albums. And so far I couldn't be more stoked from what I've heard.
The songs that The Spill Canvas have released so far are excellent and Gestalt comes out tonight. It's already past midnight, but I'm guessing that's Pacific time. I know it's gonna be absolutely amazing. One of my favorite bands.
Now as for Yellowcard. Their new single is absolutely badass as hell. Super catchy. Love the vocals and lyrics and everything. The melody and chorus are killer. I'm actually listening to it again for the 5th or so time as I write this. I absolutely loved When You're Through Thinking Say Yes, but already this song as me more hyped than I was for that album. I feel like this is gonna be Ocean Avenue's little brother, but just as huge and amazing as that album came to be for many people. They're back and I can't wait to hear it in it's entirety. Especially that song with Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy and the one with all the guest singers.
Getting me even more excited to see them on Warped Tour this year. One of the bands I'm looking forward to seeing most.
I'm sure I'll post my impressions and thoughts on TSC later and probably Yellowcard at some point.
I love music. I was never good at showing my emotions or I was. I haven't decided yet. I guard myself until it's too late. Yet music helps me convey the way I feel. The thoughts I think even if they aren't my own. We would talk in songs. She started listening to music when she would sleep.. We rubbed off on one another a lot. I don't know what to do.
I guess I'll just keep singing and hope one day she hears me. All the songs I've written and didn't write.
I like to think I sound alright. But truth is I probably sound like one of those super bad auditions on American Idol hahaha.
... birthday is in like 5 days or so.. I wanted this one to count to be awesome. To make up for all the ones I didn't do anything before it. Looks like it'll be just as great as those.. It just sucks thinking about how much we compliment one another. How perfect we fit together. How we fool around with each other even when we are mad and we both can't help but smile. She knows it. It sucks she's pushing it away.
Well I should find something to do. Gotta get my mind right.
Elliot Yamin - "Wait for You"
Mayday Parade - "Three Cheers for Five Years (Acoustic)"
"Iíll destroy this useless heart
Iíll fuck it up so itíll never beat again
Not just for me but for anyone
But I get carried away
With every phrase and made up malady
The longer I hide behind these lies,
The more I disintegrate
There's so much to say
But no words to convey
The loneliness building with each passing day You never get used to it
You just have to live with it"
So I've decided that The Academy Is... - Almost Home album is one of my favorite Spring nights jams.
Such a classic album. I remember when I first heard it I loved it, but I thought it was Fall Out Boy. hahaha They just sounded so similar to my untrained ear.
What else, I've been busting out older albums lately. It's quite nice actually. Spring just puts me in a special mood. I'm already done with school. My finals where pretty early. Thank god.
So fucking glad it's Summer break. My parents are going out of town for a weekend so that should be awesome. I'm not going cause I might have Jury Duty. Here's crossing my fingers that it falls through.
I've been playing this iPhone game a lot recently. It's called Scramble. It's so addicting, and free. So that was awesome as shit.
I need to get my NFG/Bayside ticket for Saturday night. Should be an awesome concert.
I've also decided that I need to get better at the guitar. I play, but I need to play more. I also wanna learn the piano. So I decided that when I grow up and have money I'm going to take lessons. I love the piano.
Hmm.. I saw Wolverine. It was alright. Nothing great, but I just like watching movies so I'll see anything. haha
Yet, I can't wait to see Star Trek on Friday with the pops.
There is so much shit I have been wanting to throw down in this blog lately, but I've been way to lazy and forget it all. Oh well I'll start updating more.

I remember listening to these guys about two/three years ago and absolutely hating them. I gave my Ex so much shit for listening to them... Now I feel retarded.
I recently decided to give them a try again and holy crap their last album was catchy as hell! I'm glad I decided to try them on for size again. I'm really digging "The Closest I am to Living On the Edge" Great song. The whole album is pretty solid and after listening to "Holiday" I'm pretty stoked for the new stuff.
I'm proud to say I'm am now a Valencia fan.. hahaha
Also, the new There For Tomorrow song is excellent. More of the same, but great none the less. I can't stop listening to it. Glad the EP is only 4 bucks. This is a great summer for good music.
