Come Back As Rain
03/13/12 at 03:12 PM by Miss Heartcore
Have you guys had the chance to check out the newest album from Good Old War?

On a scale of of 1 to Charlie Simpson, I'm going to say that these is heavily teetering towards Album of the Year for me--Definitely their best release yet. Don't get me wrong, their Self-Titled is very enjoyable, as is Only Way to Be Alone, but I think it's the themes that really register. The songs are just beautiful, even if they are about the conflicts between staying or walking away from someone that you've loved. And the music is just comfortable.

I'm not going to divulge into music technicalities, frankly because I have no business in doing so and probably would botch it up. Anyway, here's a couple of links to preview/hear the album and some of my favorite tracks so you can give your ears a treat and form your own opinion.

Good Old War's Come Back As Rain: Official Webstore // Amazon // iTunes

That's the last I'll compromise
Before your perfect eyes
It's a dream that wakes you up
There's nothing like sleeping alone so much

- "Cant Go Home"

High up in the trees, you made a nest for me
We made loud love above the canopy
Will you wait for me underneath the sea?
Can you hold your breath until I'm free?

- Loud Love

Is this wrong or only half right?
You want me gone but I stay the night
When I see you in the half light
It feels so fine

- Amazing Eyes

I have a bad feeling...
08/03/09 at 10:27 AM by Miss Heartcore
That 9 out of 10 bands I enjoy won't be together by this time next year.

It's a strange idea to warm up to knowing that all I'll have is old records and memories.

I guess this is growing up?

Joe:you should have talked to them and said "sorry to hear you guys are breaking up"
Joe:they'd be like "we're not"
Joe:and you could be all "that's what you think"

Still makes me laugh every time.

Ah well.

Urban Outfitters
Dressing room dude placing my clothes in my selected dressing room. Bends over. Full shot of his ass hanging out of his pants. Super.

Angels and Kings

Dude talking to a group of friends. Hand goes in his pants to scratch his ass while talking to people. I wait for a hot girl to walk over so he can use those hands to hug her and she'd never know.

Martin Johnson of BLG stretching languidly as he waits for his coat at coat check. Leans in to the CC guy and asks how much he makes in a night. Before the guy answers, Martin slaps at least $40 in his hand and walks out high and mighty.

Rohan, WFUJERSEYJON, & Martin Johnson all sporting brown flannel/plaid. Handsome.

If anything, at least the crowd will be full of eye candy.

1. Beards
2. Flannel
3. Mature
4. Virgins Tattoos.

Maybe I'll meet my future husband.

Stay tuned.

Should I or Shouldn't I?

http://www.absolutepunk.net/profile....options#filter

Who would get cut?

All Time Low?
Blaqk Audio?
30 Seconds to Mars?
Metro Station?
MxPx?

But then how would I be "In The Know" if I cut someone?

What about the Band Breakups,
So I won't have to deal with reality?

LE SYKE.

Tempting Jason...very tempting...

*this is merely for fun and a result of too much time on my hands.
But, with that said, florida seems to have been quietly climbing the ladder as far as music is concerned for the past couple of years.
i look forward to seeing the growth of many of these bands as well as what else florida has to offer, music-wise.

also, probably alot of bands are left off the list.
comment them so i can listen in.

music saves?
02/06/08 at 09:48 PM by Miss Heartcore
let me tell you something about music.

it's personal
sometimes too personal.

in the last six months (at least) i've felt myself shape shifting and evolving in all ways
and i turn to my music to protect my heart that's so easily broken by every day troubles.

the problem is...

it's become too personal.

every time i flip through my cds
or scroll through my ipod,
everything has a memory.

whether it's a song that i played in the past to heal my wounds
or a song shared between friends or romance
or a memory of a show
or just an exchange between the artists,

everything has something attached to it
if not a song specifically, than the band as a whole.

how can i continue to heal
how can i escape
when everything reminds me of something else?
