Why did I decide to write a review for Brokencyde?
1) Most of the stuff I review I generally enjoy, if not really love. Negative reviews are always easier to write (for me), and they almost always more amusing both during the writing process and afterward in the review thread.
2) I'm the only female reviewer on staff, and Brokencyde lacks respect for the female kind. That we can agree on. So I figured it would be a nice touch to get the female perspective in on this mess. I'm definitely not a feminist. How could I be? I love Tucker Max. But I respect myself and my little sister, Jenna, who will never walk within a 100 foot radius of this band.
3) Um, because the hate for this band is awesome. They are just too bad to not say anything and/or enjoy the verbal stoning. Get over it - the bad press isn't gonna stop. Even if AP.net as a whole stopped posting news/reviews about Brokencyde, the hate for them would surpass the staff's editorial control and like now, spread like wildfire in threads. How many other musicians have spoken out about Brokencyde? Plenty. I've said before and I'll say it again - I'd rather see the hate train continuously on go than watch this band sweep up the kiddos without so much as a whisper.
Not matter how big Brokencyde becomes, they will always be a joke. If you can find me ONE person that wouldn't take all this bad press to heart even just a little bit, then I will revoke my negativity and force myself to love this band.
