Add me on Facebook, it'll be fun (I have a desire to max out my friend limit, just to say I did it).
Oh, and I messed up the other day -- the line from The Matches song is "every dawn gets its day," I'm just an idiot and misheard it. I really need to get the lyrics so I can read them, some great stuff in here. Well, I have some work to finish up before I go pass out on the couch watching "Arrested Development."
I love that people have caught on to my little "Panic(!) at the Disco" jab. It's all in good fun - I just love that it's spreading. | | Tags: facebook, matches, correction |

| | What Am I Listening To? |
I've been listening to The Matches' A Band in Hope constantly the past few days -- I am shocked that I have been playing it more than Lydia's new one ... but I keep re-playing it every time it finishes. There's something about this band that just turns me on. They're so damn good. I really hope people let this grow on them ... because you'll fall in love.
"Darkness Rising" is my favorite track at the moment, the vocals are amazing and it reminds me of something from a musical ('Sweeny Todd' or 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' come to mind). I feel as though it is my duty to make sure as many people as I can possibly convince buy this album. | | Tags: the matches, recommendation, second impression, what am i listening to? |

| | First Impressions: The Matches - A Band in Hope |
This is one of those albums that is going to be extremely polarizing in this community. The band is extremely creative - and the songs are very unique and different. We all know the band could write a massive pop song that gets played on all the top 40 radio stations -- yet they push their creative sides instead. I'd say the album is "slower" than their previous work ... the lyrics are still great ... I am going to need to let it sit with me for a while and listen a few more times before I can make more judgments.
The band is bloody brilliant, unfortunately I don't know if I see our demographic/scene understanding that. There's something special here ... I hope people are ready for something new. | | Tags: the matches, first impressions |
