Isn't that title the truth? Are we ever really safe for extended periods of time? I don't mean against death or danger, just in the most general and probably mundane ways.
Think about what your safe from right now and figure out how to keep this going.
It's been a good, long weekend. Of course, I've had an ad to work on and I've been obsessing/stressing since my first one didn't go so well. I think I have a pretty good/good looking idea, so I'm happy about that. It may not be the most creative, but it actually looks like a real ad and explains my selling point well.
I'm also very happy the Tigers won this weekend, even if we had to score 52 points to do so. Chase looked great at first and then kind of waned, but I think he's going to be just fine. Maclin and Washington are beasts, of course. Our Offense is going to be impossible to stop (knock on wood). Now if our D would catch up a bit. Next week is our first home game and it's at 6, so that should be a great night game to kick off the season.
Got a few school related things to accomplish today, but I'm going to try and finish them soon so I can relax and hang the rest of the day. Might write a review, I've been blessed with some great new music lately:
first test of the semester tomorrow at 11 AM CST. Wish me luck, say a prayer for me, eat food, etc. Its in Marketing and I have no idea waht to expect, except that are are "lots of definitions" and to make sure and "read the parts of the book not covered by lecture" Gee, thanks. Great. Oh well, CURVES ARE AWESOME! I've got 9 pages of typed notes and just made some notecards. Repetition, repetition, repetition. I'll give it a little less than hour right before bed, becuase I hear you retain stuff better then.
Now how about some music recs????
1.) The Wonder Years - Get Stoked On It!
- I can't stop spinning this record. It's a funner, bit lighter version of Four Year Strong. The songs are hilarious (see: "Lets Moscersize!!!" or "Dude, What is a Land Pirate?" The singing is awesome and when they do use screams or gang vocals, its oh so sweet and catchy. The drummer is great, not limiting himself to the normal "we're a hardcore influenced pop-punk band" aspect of lots of double bass. His rhythms are complex and awesome. The guitars are also pretty technical, but get heavy just when you want it the most. Great record.
2.) Kanye West - "Flashing Lights"
-this is the best beat I think he's ever made. Don't care much about the lyrics. Rest of the album is good, but not memorable (other than "The Good Life")
3.) Wu-Tang - "C.R.E.A.M."
- this always comes on after The Wonder Years gets done, and I fucking love this song. The intro with Meth yelling "Dolla Dolla Bills Yall" always makes me smile.
4.) Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue
- you know it and love it. I realized I love it, too. Though, I haven't liked anything they have done since. Still, i'll take the one album and run.
5.) Ambitions - Stranger
- It's good, not great. I was expecting more. "Sinking" is still hte best track, but the whole album reminds me of a less political Ignite. This one needs more time to sink in. I hope to get a chance to review this one (as well as B9 labelmates Crime In Stereo, if the disc would ever get here)
Ok, thats all. Hope something there caught your eye or made you smile and wink and look sexy at the camera,
