I recently sat down at Voodoo Music Fest to talk to Andy Hull about the new Manchester Orchestra and Right Away, Great Captian! records. I was grateful enough to hear some of the new M.O. record and discuss with Andy some of the changes within the band's sound.
From the article: "I have a better magnifying glass to look at my life and the world," he says. "That's it. I just aged. The new record is still filled with teenage angst. It's not sensitive, but it's incredibly embarrassing lyrically. It's incredibly vulnerable, but the more vulnerable the lyrics are, it is almost my whole human side of me felt more honest, but I was trying to cover it up at the same time."
