I totally agree, but we both know how touchy the subject of race actually is. Saying (posting) things that would normally be okay conversation between one or two people suddenly becomes this "Oh my God, I can't believe they said that." Posting something and actually putting it into words seems to be a lot more detrimental, especially in a post/thread/forum than just blowing off steam and saying it out loud, around people you know. As a parallel, the responses you see in forums is probably a lot worse than what it would be if you said it verbally and someone disagreed. People can hide behind an AP.net username and thus, they can say whatever they want, even though they wouldn't normally.

Ah yes, I didn't think of that. This is just the beginning.

Yea, this thread was crazy from the get-go. While I agree that people should air their opinions, some things are better left unsaid. I mentioned that to the OP and he said something along the lines of "I can express myself, yada, yada." About 5 posts later he admits that he should have just been quiet and that he was feeling that way because it was his first year. If anything, it has made for some interesting reading.
