Antiquated social scene, devoted to the like, the norm, & therapy.
Where are we now? Caught between the frail & forgiving, those that show love through intimate contact. There’s little room for a negative- but where’s the light?
Nothing to follow but each other.
Look after me. Piece by piece, our structure crumbles beneath careless swings.
Watch the windows for unwilling passengers, willing to take the leap.
It’s not the fall that kills you, but the sudden change in conversational temperature.
As one is called out on his own, the rest will follow suit, & a bloodbath ensues.
For those unworthy to fit, skintight procedure, eager to be in with them again.
These people are oozing with glamour, grandeur & factory-manufactured pain.
Beneath the surface, theoretical child, you will find a broken, tired beauty queen, plump with needs, full of thought, & a lack of identity.
Behind the curtain you will see a vast, open & barren sea.
Destination: a distant island, burning with foreign clarity.
On the brink of disaster, your hands are held skyward, begging for mercy, exploding through veins. Not another will be allowed to pass under our radar screen.
Surveillance will be impervious to all attempts at gaining ground.
They will call her out, break her down. Strange lips breathe life into her failing lungs.
All hail the hero of the moment.
Here, then gone, then completely forgotten.
I can see the harm in knowing motives.
Shapeshifter, let them honor you in new ways your appearance has allowed
They will hold you in the highest regard & they don’t even know your name.
Lost in yourself, you find a better motto- one twice as selfish & vindictive in style.
We will work as parasites til we bleed it dry. Emptied of all vital workings, yet still very alive.
