Vanhings

During the year 2002 in a dark surrounding of smoke, the name Vanhings occurred as a breeze of light. As bright as the Caribbean pool water reflecting on our skin. While I was in the middle of our "Jamaican gig" the author Rossini came into my mind like the hot burning coal of a cigarette tip. As I remember his book Jan van Hunks, I realized the comparison: The struggle Van Hunks experienced with the Devil in an outrages battle of smoking pipe... It hit me like a ton of bricks and it was clear that I'm smoking the same struggling pipe of blood, sweat & tears, covered with blue mist of smoking clouds that represented the struggle of overcoming life's obstacles as well as the myth of success... As we arrived back in S.A., a major load of obstacles in the music industry awaited us. Like Van Hunks, we also went back abroad in order to hunt the treasures of success. After a very prophet-able music adventure in the UK & Scotland we realized the true treasure lies within ourselves and our homeland S.A. We decided to follow our mentor, Van Hunks and gave the Devil a showdown. After all "The opposition is already burned to ashes"- Berné van den Bergh The songs on our debut album Shrapnel has been written over the last eight moons and represents life and hope... There's always new life after everything was destroyed... I invite you to smoke the pipe of freedom, hope and light with us. Vanhings is a unity in order to accomplish your dreams in life...
