The Detroit Free Press recently interviewed The Gaslight Anthem.
"I thought it was a lot riskier to kind of make the same kind of records we did with the same formula than it was to mix it up," Horowitz said. "We don't want to be that band that attempts to write the same record over and over again just to appease whatever, like critics or fans or anything like that."

Alex Levine of The Gaslight Anthem sat down with The Hatchet for an interview.
There’s something about that song. It’s like everything just kind of stops and that song matters. It makes everything OK. There’s like a 30-second clip of that song toward the end that I think we, as a band, caught magic when we wrote it and recorded it and when we play it that we’ve never done with any other song. It’s like the stars align and we become completely in synch with each other.

Brian Fallon talked with Canoe about The Gaslight Anthem's new album.
Well, the record is what I did during difficulties. But I wouldn’t say the record is directly about the difficulties — not as much as people think. I’m not writing a news column. It’s not like, here’s the details and here’s the street name. It’s not the Kardashians, it’s a band. I want to write songs people can relate to right away. But I try to write in a broader sense. So it may seem very specific, but it’s not necessarily about the things you think. It’s a funny way of trying to articulate yourself in a song, and sometimes it’s very difficult.

We'd like to thank Walmart's Soundcheck platform for sponsoring this week's newsfeed by calling extra attention to The Gaslight Anthem's recent performance and interview over at their website. The Gaslight Anthem released Get Hurt last week and this performance is one of the first studio sessions of new songs from the album. It also includes fan favorite "The '59 Sound" as well as an interview with the band. Personally, I think the sound quality is excellent and if you haven’t checked it out yet -- I would highly recommend it. It also goes without saying that the band's new album is absolutely worth picking up.

Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem is on the recent episode of the Music Feeds Podcast.
“But on this one they’re like, ‘Fuck you guys, you’re not saving anything. This record blows’. I’ve read some pretty funny reviews that are obviously like, ‘Fuck those guys, they suck’. And then I’ve read reviews that are actually like, ‘Whoa, that’s a pretty ballsy move to really change up the game.’”

Damn, wish I had seen this last night -- I could have had three The Gaslight Anthem spots at the top of the page. Noisey sat down with Brian Fallon to talk about the band's new album and how Brian just wants a normal life.
So to save himself from himself, Fallon pulled the plug on all social media and vanished for most of the past year. "I'd had enough of myself," he remembers. "I was like, 'You’re an idiot. You just keep running your stupid mouth and you say things that you don’t mean. And you say them because you’re in the moment and you’re hot about something. So you know what, self? I'm cutting you off. You need to shut up.'"

The Gaslight Anthem share with NME that they were influenced by The 1975 on their new album, Get Hurt. We talk about the producer choice in today's special episode of the AP.net Podcast.
The band tracked down producer Mike Crossey in an effort to see if they could tap into something similar to the British group. "We were like, 'well that sounds different – what would happen if a band like us works with a guy who makes records sound like that?'" says Fallon.

The Gaslight Anthem's Alex Levine and Ben Horowitz sat down with Blare Magazine to talk about their new album.
You need to reinvent yourself, you don’t need to reinvent the whole fucking thing. I mean even with the teaser, we’re just fucking with people. Andy Diamond and I are just running down the street and he’s spitting beer out of his mouth, like we were just having some fun with that one. But that was part of the reason… like we would rather people be like, “What the fuck is this?” than say, “Oh another Gaslight album, ho hum”.

Begging for more information about The Gaslight Anthem's new album, Get Hurt? Check out an interview at RedBull with Brian Fallon.
I just got the masters back two or three weeks ago, I hadn't listened to them in a while. But now they sound good to me, I mean it sounds exactly like what we set out to do. Initially, when you first hear it, you're like, “Oh, this is different.” There's also some comfort songs on there -- some that I think sound similar to previous records. But we try to put a little extra in there so it didn't sound too out there. We didn't go totally insane. It's leading people along, not frustrating anyone.

Rolling Stone have posted a bunch of photos and commentary from the recording sessions of the new The Gaslight Anthem album.
"The whole record was like, 'What can we create as a band using anything at our disposal, as long as we do it organically, without computers or samples?'" Fallon says. "If we wanted to try a synth, we'd try a synth. If we wanted to try a drum loop, we would do that."

Brian Fallon sat down with the Charlotte Observer to talk about The Gaslight Anthem's next album.
It might grow on some people who might not like it at first or say, “This is too weird, it’s not what I expected.” They’re entitled to that. It’s fair to feel that way, but once you sit with it, after the initial shock, you’ll find similarities to the old records. It still sounds like us.y

Benny Horowitz, drummer for The Gaslight Anthem, breaks down the Yankees' season for Billboard's "Play Ball" series.
With a healthy team I don't see them not competing again for the for the A.L. East. I think Tampa’s real strong again and I think Boston is really strong again and you know they’re going to be right there in the mix at the end. I’m a Yankees fan. I gotta go for it -- of course they could win the World Series this year. Why not?
