This auction is sponsored by Republic Records and the monies raised will go to Newtown with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the "Sandy Hook School Support Fund" set up through Newtown Savings Bank/ United Way of Western Connecticut. United Way of Western Connecticut has waived their fees so all the money will go directly to Newtown. Funds will provide support services to the families and community that have been affected.
Today we've got a short interview with Jenna Miles, co-owner of ShopRadioCast, talking about the new pressing of Blink-182's Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. I spoke with her about why the company wanted to get involved with this release, the failed Mightier Than Sword pressing, why they decided to offer a discount to those who preordered from MTS and more. ShopRadioCast will put up their TOYPAJ pressing for preorder on March 12; check out the interview and a timeline of the ordeal of this record release here and discuss it, along with whether you'll be preordering the release, in the replies.
We've been ready to announce it for weeks but we procrastinated because we weren't sure what the...
Blink-182 recently stopped by TripleJ in Australia to do an interview where they discussed the title of the EP, Travis not coming on the tour and being replaced by Brooks, and much more. You can stream this interview, here.
Well, there was certainly some drama last night: Travis Barker (Blink 182) and AJ Maddah (promoter for Soundwave, which Barker is not playing) really had it out on Twitter. A lot of accusations were thrown around, by both sides, before they finally got on the phone and declared it was a "huge" misunderstanding. The post that started it all was an instagram from Travis to his fans apologizing for missing the Australian tour.
Travis Barker will be sitting out Blink-182's upcoming Australian tour due to his fear of flying. Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion will be filling in.
The trip to Australia was planned during our European tour last summer. The band knew the chances of Travis overcoming his fear of flying, which was magnified after the horrible plane crash in 2008, would be a challenge, but we wanted to play for our fans in Australia nonetheless. The three of us tried all measures to get us all there in full form. Travis has been working to overcome his fear of flying. Since we now know we have to make the trip without Travis our friend Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) has stepped...
blink-182’s dogs eating dogs debuted at #23 On The Billboard 200 as well as #3 on the Independent Albums chart, #5 on the Rock chart, #2 on the Alternative Albums chart and #3 on the Digital Albums chart.
Blink-182's new Dogs Eating Dogs EP is now available for pre-order on iTunes. I've been listening to it the past few days, and as a huge Blink fan, I'm not let down at all. Took a few listens for it to all set in, getting new Blink music still feels like it shouldn't be happening. There's a lot of dual vocals (although definitely more Tom centric), and a lot of energy ... fans of the band's last two albums are going to love it. I think that "Dogs Eating Dogs" and "Pretty Little Girl" are the two stand-outs ... although the weird spoken/rap part of the latter is taking some getting used to.
