Brand New are collecting canned food at their December shows.
There’s a bit of trite talk that gets thrown around this time of year about all kinds of good will and merry making and joy, but there isn’t anything trite about the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people in this country who don’t have enough to eat. We are pleased and proud to be partnering with food banks in each of the cities we’re playing this month, and we urge you to bring 2 cans of non perishable food items when you come hear our songs. It is a small gesture that goes a long way.
When you donate at the show you will receive a raffle ticket to win some memorabilia, but please consider donating not for...
In the spirit of humanity and togetherness, Brand New are adding a single show to each coast in December. We will be playing one at the Troubadour in West Hollywood on December 8th, and the other at The Bell House in Brooklyn on December 22nd. (Four & Twenty better get baking.)
Fanclub sales through Ducat King start at 12pm Local time TODAY. Additional on sale for Brooklyn will be TODAY at 2pm EST. All of the tickets for LA will be sold through Ducat King.
These shows are smaller, and we are doing everything we can to make sure these tickets end up in the hands of the people who are actually going to jump around with the bands....
The srcvinyl 2014 Subscription Volume One is now available to pre-order at ShopRadioCast. None of the fourteen releases have been announced yet (although they are in production), but a newsletter sent out earlier today seemed to be teasing towards the much-anticipated re-press of Brand New's Deja Entendu being included in next year's subscription.
We will be announcing the first titles over the next few weeks. Hint, the first one is from a band that we did an exclusive color for (not an srcvinyl title) and is a title many of you really really want.
Frontgate has sent out an email saying no name changes on tickets will be allowed for Brand New's upcoming NJ show. The more you know.
As part of Brand New's effort to discourage scalping, keep tickets affordable and in the hands of the true fans, there is a strict 2-ticket limit per person. Mulitple purchases are forbidden and violation of this policy will result in the buyer forfeiting ALL purchased tickets. All tickets will be WILL CALL ONLY and name changes will NOT be permitted. If you are not able to attend the show, you must email us by 9AM EST on Tuesday, December 3rd to cancel your order.
When arriving at the venue, simply show the credit card you used for purchase along...
A reader wrote to Music on Vinyl about the sticker on their Brand New vinyl. The response can be found below. And with that, stickergate is being retired.
Sorry to hear that you feel this way about the sleeve. FYI: the artwork was approved by the label who owns the rights for this record.
So, we are not going to be sending out replacement jackets since there’s nothing wrong with them.
The UK vinyl press of Brand New's The Devil And God... does not have the sticker on the front sleeve, but on the cellophane covering it. Banquet Records posted a video of both the US clear and UK black to show the difference -- check the replies -- and then rage.
The "Brand New doesn't care about their fans and are in it for the money" crowd are gonna have to eat some crow on this one. A fan who bought tickets for the discography shows in California called to try and change the will-call name for his ticket and was told that the band has "strictly enforced" that name changes on tickets (the name on the will call list that was selected during purchase) will not apply to these shows to try and deter scalpers. They told him specifically that the portion of their policy that discusses name changes to will-call tickets "does NOT apply to this show. The band has strictly enforced this. Name changes may NOT be done."
Even with Brand New's shows in California being will-call shows -- it looks like there's a loophole that's led to some tickets showing up online. Now, we've just been informed by AP.net user "Mister Lyrical" that people are selling fake tickets to the shows by posting relatively cheap prices on Craigslist and trying to scam people with counterfeits. His story is below and we just want to urge everyone to be careful out there -- don't want anyone getting fucked over.
Multiple "sellers" sent me pictures of the tickets they supposedly possessed. For starters, hard printed tickets aren't being sent out until two weeks before the shows. Both told me they had bought through TicketMaster....
A Brand New fan contacted a ticket scalper that was asking for $250 for a ticket to the upcoming discography shows and told them it was wrong to charge such a high mark-up -- the scalper retailated by putting the fan's contact information on Craigslist to be bombarded by other fans looking for tickets. As I said on Twitter yesterday, it's now obviously getting to the point where not just fans are getting fucked over, but the goodwill bands have with fans continues to erode due to these situations. If it's the band's fault or not (and that debate can rage for years) ... it's very clear that fans are beginning to associate their frustration and discontentment with the bands themselves. ... read more
Hmmm, more Brand New news to get riled up about: Tickets sold out for their discography shows insanely fast. So fast that tickets are now on StubHub for absolutely insane prices. They sold out four dates, two coasts, in maybe two-minutes total. They're also trending on Twitter; which will probably lead to a lot of very confused people.
We have received many emails in regards to the sticker being placed on the Brand New jackets instead of the outer sleeve. So many emails it is actually impossible for us to respond to these all so we are addressing publicly to reach out to you all. We completely understand and sympathize with all that this placement of the sticker is not ideal. However there are some huge misconceptions. We are NOT the manufacturer of this product. We are the retailer for this item just like Amazon and any other store. If you decide to remove this sticker it is GOING TO RUIN your jacket. We...
Brand Newwill be performing their whole discography in celebration of working on new material. There's 4 shows booked total, 2 albums each night. The shows will be December 9th and 10th at the Observatory in Santa Ana, California, December 20th at The Paramount in Huntington, NY, and December 21st at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. Today at 12pm Eastern, and then Pacific time a ticket pre-sale will go live on ducatking. General tickets will go on sale this Thursday.
The recent shows we played around and including the Riot Fests in Colorado and Chicago were such a great time for us and we wanted to thank you all for the response, once again, to our erratic and spontaneous...
Mike Dubin just posted a Brand New set from November of 2000 at The Downtown in Long Island. You can stream it in the replies -- it includes an "Untitled" song that (to my knowledge) was never released elsewhere.
Cool video alert. Some upstanding Internet citizen uploaded a full set from the Jesse Lacey (Brand New) / Kevin Devine acoustic tour that happened way back in the dark ages of 2007. The acoustic angst is in the replies.
At last night's show in Cincinnati, Brand New played Deja Entendu in its entirety. Head to the replies to check out the full set list along with some newly uncovered footage of the band playing an acoustic performance for the release of Deja.
Modern Vinyl has confirmed that Brand New's The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me will be re-pressed on November 4th by Music On Vinyl. The first 666 copies being sold will be on red marbled vinyl, while the remaining copies will be on 180-gram black.
PropertyOfZack has stumbled across something that sounds like it could be a new or unreleased Brand New song. It could also be one of a few other projects of course, but that first verse really appears to be Jesse Lacey. Weigh in on what you think this is in the replies.
