Bruce Springsteenjust announced a new album called High Hopes for release January 14, 2014 via Columbia Records. Hit the replies to see the artwork and the track listing. This represents his 18th studio album and the follow-up to 2012's No. 1-charting Wrecking Ball. The 12-track album consists of three cover songs as well as two new takes on old songs: Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), who plays live semi-regularly with the E Street Band, will duet with The Boss on a new version of "The Ghost of Tom Joad" and we also get a studio version of "American Skin (41 Shots)" from Live in New York City. The rest of the album is composed of new or previously unreleased material.

Keenan acknowledges the band doesn't necessarily need to release new material to fill an arena – they took their dark, psychedelic show on the road as recently as earlier this year. "But as an artist you don't want to become a greatest hits version of yourself, either," he says. "You want to push the boundaries. You want to figure out how can you challenge yourself to discover something new, discover something different about yourself. What are your limitations? What avenues can you push and expand? That is life. I don't have any interest in coasting yet."
The newly-resurrected Fadeaway Records (Brand New, The Movielife) is teaming up with Enjoy the Ride Records to release Friends, compilation featuring over 30 previously unreleased songs. It will be available digitally and on limited edition 3xLP vinyl in February, with all proceeds going to cancer research. I've had a few users ask about the Terrible Things tab book that was up on Kickstarter. I reached out to Fred and he has assured me that they're all almost done. It's taken him about 4x longer than he expected to write them up. But they are coming.

I Surrender Records will be releasing Our Voices on November 25th. This will be the first in what the label hopes will become an ongoing series of EPs featuring original solo tracks from the members of some of the biggest and most influential punk and indie bands.
