In this day and age, there is an abundance of music to choose from, in literally any genre, for music fans. In my experience, this has been a blessing and a curse at the same time -- finding new artists to truly connect to is an indescribable feeling, but one that has ceased to be special as it used to be by the sheer fact that there is so much wonderful music to explore. However, once in a while, an artist comes by who makes a lasting impression because their music simply blows you away. And that's exactly what happened when I first heard East Forest's music: I felt the same overwhelming feeling that few similar artists, such as Balmorhea and The Album Leaf, made me feel years ago. And...
You're going to have to set the clock back a few years for this one. At one point, Canada's Fighting For Ithaca was part of a large core of bands doing the Four Year Strong-style songwriting. Flash forward several years later and the band is still going strong, albeit now they're one of the few remaining doing the style. Listen to the band's new track "Better Off" in the replies.
Today, we're premiering the new video for "Unfamiliar" from Kansas City pop-punk group Get Busy Living. The band's new EP, All Good Memories Fade, is available on iTunes. The song takes its name from a book written by lead singer/guitarist Chase Peterson’s fiancé, best-selling author Komal Kant. Her new book, Unfamiliar, which is co-authored with Erica Cope, is also out this week. In the meantime, check out the new video in the replies.
Today we're happy to be streaming the new EP from Something You Whisper called From The Other Side. Listen to the EP in the replies.
Comeback Kid won't be releasing its new album, Die Knowing, until Monday, but we got a special treat for you as we're premiering the album today and will be streaming it throughout the weekend. Check out the entire LP in the replies and don't forget to pre-order it.
With Have Mercy and Daisyhead joining forces on a new split EP, listeners are granted the opportunity to get in on the ground floor with two bands that have a very bright future. Have Mercy's phenomenal debut, 2013's The Earth Pushed Back, is an addictive, emotive punch to the chest and producer Paul Leavitt supplies the missing X-factor into the songs on this split, while Daisyhead's emo-grunge isn't without flashes of Balance and Composure and Daylight. Both bands are relative newcomers and both should use this release - out tomorrow - as a building block for huge 2014s. Stream the four-song split in the replies, and preorder it over here.
Today we're bringing you the sweet indie rock sound of Dreamtigers new album, Wishing Well. California has produced its fair share of punk bands over the years and The Mighty Fine is looking like it's going to be a part of that group of artists very soon. The band is releasing Brothers and Smugglers on March 4th via Creator-Destructor Records. It was recorded and produced by Kyle Black (Strung Out, Set Your Goals, Comeback Kid) and fans of 90s melodic punk bands like Hot Water Music, Alkaline Trio, and The Lawrence Arms will definitely love this. We're happy to premiere the group's video for "Daphne" which you can view in the replies.
Today, we're premiering one of my favorite 2014 releases thus far - the full-length debut album from Creative Adult. The album's titled Psychic Mess and it's available next Tuesday via Run For Cover Records. The 12-track album is a dark, fuzzy noisemaker infused with psychedelic haze in the vein of Fugazi and the like. Check out Psychic Mess in the replies and pre-order it via Run For Cover.
So you're a fan of skittish, sunny punk rock, huh? In that case, you should probably check out Plymouth, UK trio Woahnows. NJ's Abilities is gearing up for the release of its new EP Encouraging Calm and label debut on Meletov Records. For fans of Moving Mountains and Athletics, this 4 track release will certainly satisfy your craving for that ambient instrumental sound. Listen to "Maple" in the replies.
Chiodos have always had an affinity for the bizarre and what goes bump in the night (after all, the band is named for the trio of brothers who directed the cult film Killer Klowns from Outer Space), so it couldn't come as a surprise that the band's new video for "Why The Munsters Matter" is full of old black-and-white horror movie clips. The song is classic Chiodos - as it contains a Bone Palace Ballet feel while maintaining the band's rejuvenated energy and chaos (as seen on last summer's Warped Tour). Today, we are proud to premiere the band's new video along with the reveal of "The Devil Dance Tour 2014." The band's upcoming album, DEVIL, hits retailers on April 1st, but if you...

If you're into Polar Bear Club this is definitely a band you might want to check out.
Idlehands is going to be one of those bands you're going to want to know about right now. The San Diego rock act is starting to make a splash on the national scene and it'll be a damn shame if you catch the group on their upcoming tour with Being As An Ocean, A Lot Like Birds, and My Iron Lung and not know the band's material. Listen to the track "Mellow Christ" in the replies which comes from the split with Ghost Parade. The track features GP's vocalist Justin Bonifacio and the split is available for pre-order.
In case you haven't noticed, Tiny Engines has been killing it thus far in 2014. It's always great to discover a new band through one of these features. Today when Paul from Quiet Country Audio sent me over Real People, I didn't know what to expect. This band is a well kept secret because if you're a fan of Native, My Heart To Joy, or Algernon Cadwallader than this is for you. Head to the replies to check out their videos and you can grab the audio on Bandcamp.
It's really funny to look back through your inbox and see the progression and growth of an artist. September 2012 was the first time I received an email about Front Porch Step, when he was just a local act. I didn't think much of it then but to see how much he's grown is truly amazing. Now, he's signed to Pure Noise and gaining tons of momentum with his debut record out on iTunes and physical copies hitting stores on Feb. 11th. Today we're premiering the video for "Drown." You can view it in the replies.
Today we're bringing you the second new song from The Weaks' upcoming debut EP, The World Is A Terrible Place and I Hate Myself and Want To Die, which is out on February 11 via our friends at Lame-O Records. The track is called "How To Put An Audience To Sleep In Under Two Minutes" but the joke's on these guys because the song is 10 seconds longer than 2 minutes, and it only took me 30 seconds to fall asleep. But really, it's the most punk-ish track from this release and we think fans of Joyce Manor, Weezer, The Sidekicks, The Ergs and stuff like that will like it. Check out the song in the replies and pre-order the release over yonder.
Throw Texas Is The Reason's Garrett Klahn, Samiam's Sergie Loobkoff, Thrice's Eddie Breckenridge, RX Bandits' Steve Choi, and Peace'd Out's Roger Camero in a room and watch the awesome happen. Pop-punk has been such a hard genre to define over the past few years. It's taken on many sounds, shapes, and forms but one thing is undeniable - when a band does the genre justice, nothing else matters but the music. Today we're extremely excited to premiere the song "Progression Regression" from New England's Traditions. My initial take was the music of Real Friends meets the vocals of Valencia. The track comes from the band's upcoming EP Cycles out on March 11th. Listen to the track in the replies and it is available for pre-order.
Fueled By Ramen paved the way for a lot of artists. One of those was Chicago's August Premier. The band released Fireworks And Alcohol in 2003 and cemented the band's presence in the scene.
