The ridiculously named Hot Bagels did an interview with us, which can be found here.
Write music and rock. There is nothing else I'd rather do. It gets me high.

Just a friendly reminder to make sure you check us out on other social networks. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Last.fm, and Rdio. The AP.net staff can also be found elsewhere online, this post highlights where. Show us some love.

Welcome back to AbsolutePlaylist, a new feature that will bring you a playlist each Friday from one of our staff members or a special guest to ring your weekend in the right way. Today I've taken the helm to give you a stunning tour-de-force of the oft-maligned and misunderstood genre known as "southern rock." There are Rdio and Spotify streams in the replies so kick off your shoes, grab your beverage of choice, and let's wish these winter blues away together!

All Forces recently filled out our interview, which can be read here.
The usual. Our families, significant others, people who promoted us, and Thomas Edison. Because, you know, he invented the gramophone. Even though he was a greedy asshole that probably fucked Nikola Tesla out of unimaginable wealth.

Welcome to My Back Pages, a collaborative staff feature that will survey a landscape of renowned classics and unheralded gems alike, most of which no one around here ever writes a word about. The rules are simple and loose: we won’t cover anything from this millennium and we will avoid all or most AP.net favorites—though we might make an exception if something is nearing a milestone anniversary. Beyond that though, anything is fair game. So if you have an album, artist, or genre you would like to see discussed in this feature, feel free to throw us a few recs.

After our last feature, where we discussed the legendary Mr. Bob Dylan, we couldn't help but move onto Dylan's significantly...

Read an interview with our own Drew Beringer about vinyl collecting and records on Now Spinning.
My older cousin gave me a copy of Rage Against The Machine’s debut album and then my first purchase on my own was Weezer’s Blue Album. From then on through all levels of schooling (middle, high, college) any extra income I got from my part-time or summer jobs went to buying music. Still does!

In case anyone forgot, this past fall we launched the first-ever AP.net Fantasy Football Challenge. Members of our community contributed $20 each and all the money was put into a pool. Each of the fantasy football leagues was run by a band member and each member picked a charity. An ultimate winner (using win-loss record, points for, points against and point differential as measuring sticks) has now been determined! The winner of Brandon Pagano's (Handguns) league, Micah, finished with an 11-3 record and the best overall point differential out of all the champions, so the money collected – nearly $3,000 – will be donated next week to the Ronald McDonald House of Albany. In case you're...

Today we're very proud to announce a brand new feature which, for the time being, we're calling AbsolutePlaylist. We're going to be posting a 1 hour playlist every Friday starting off with our very own staff members. This week, we're featuring my own playlist: From 24 to 12: A Playlist to my Past where I put together a collection of songs I would send to my 12 year old self. Check out the playlist, and my track by track commentary in the replies.

The results are in for our Most Anticipated of 2014 (Reader's Poll Edition) and I don't think many of you will be surprised at the results. All in all, we had thousands of votes and we tallied up the top 30 band's you're anticipating new music from this year. Check it out in the replies. Thanks again for participating!

One last EOTY list: the bold users of the website - known as "Prestigious" members - have contributed their individual "Best Of 2013" lists to create a compiled list. It differs in several regards from the Staff List posted last month - check it out in the replies.

The 56th Grammy Awards will begin at 8 PM EST tonight on CBS and this is your open thread to predict winners, discuss said winners, and talk about the performances. Check out which artists were nominated for what category, as well as my predictions in the major four categories. There are a lot of star-studded performances tonight, including Lorde, Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons, Beyoncé, Metallica, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Daft Punk making a rare live television performance with the iconic Stevie Wonder, and a monster collaboration between Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, Dave Grohl, and Lindsay Buckingham. Let's have some fun.
