Paper + Plastick's first physical comic book, "Words and Panels Vol. 1," is now available for purchase here. It contains printed copies of the first installments of the label's three running webcomics. The webcomics can all still be downloaded for free here.
LIGHTS has teamed up with Indaba Music for a remix contest. Musicians will have from now through November 24th to submit their remixes. Fans will then have until December 5th to vote for their favorites before the winners are announced on December 19th. One winner for each song will be chosen, and they will receive $500, an autographed copy of Siberia, and have their remix featured on an official release to be announced at a later date. Corey Warning (The Graduate) and Tony Peck (The Forecast) have started a new band called Lincoln-Douglas Street Fighter. They are playing one show in Quincy, IL on December 10th at the State Room with Asa Dawson's (Junior Varsity) new band Palace Flophouse. If anyone donates to either The Graduate's Kickstarter or The Forecast's Kickstarter, they get $2 off the $10 admission price.
Metric has confirmed that they will collaborating with composer, Howard Shore, once again to work on the score for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis. Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth have announced that they have "split and their marriage is over". The South American tour dates are still going ahead as scheduled but plans beyond that are currently uncertain. Read an official statement in the replies.
