For those of you who enjoy indie movies, Hesher came out on DVD yesterday. This was a highly anticipated release in indie circles, and has ties to the music community because of its metal-based soundtrack. It stars two of the biggest names in the industry today with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Natalie Portman, and Rainn Wison (The Office) is also in it. Last night The Cure played their only European show of the year at Bestival in the UK. The band played a 32 song set, were reunited with keyboardist, Roger O'Donnell, and played "The Caterpillar" for the first time in two decades. Head to the replies to check out the setlist
Four members of Odd Future will have their own 15-minute live-action show titled "Loiter Squad" on Adult Swim. It will include sketches, man on the street segments, pranks, as well as music from OFWGKTA.
Coffee Projectwill be releasing a five-song digital EP via Paper + Plastick Records on September 27. You can download one of the songs, a cover of Malvina Reynolds' "Little Boxes" (aka the theme song for the TV show "Weeds") here. It will include unreleased material from the band, a variety of Muir’s music projects, and guest spots featuring members of Metallica, Bad Religion, and Pennywise.
